: 1969 Camaro--302, 12bolt, 4spd.
Fuzzyhall Nov 13th, 07, 11:12 AM Hey guys I came across a 69' camaro with a POP-Owners Manual.
The guy says it has a 302 (not original), 12bolt posi (411), and a 4-speed.
The car HAD a console w/guages, 8,000 tach but they were removed :( The car is more of a driver than anything.

What is something like this worth?
Gary L Nov 13th, 07, 12:15 PM No vacuum booster in the picture. Does it have disk brakes? Any other signs of a Z/28? If not $8K depending on overall condition. If it had an "X" code (can't) or if POP shows DZ then maybe $7K more. Based on sound body. Just my guess.
Eric Kammerer Nov 13th, 07, 12:33 PM What does the POP say it was? Value is going to depend greatly on what it started as. Right now, it's just another driver 69. If it WAS something once, then it may be worth more.

What should I ask him about the POP?
Engine #? Tranny #?
Thanks guys
Eric Kammerer Nov 13th, 07, 12:47 PM Can you get a picture of it??
First, you want the VIN, to make sure it is the same car (assuming you have the car's VIN). It will also have the engine, rear axle, and trans codes.

buzzworth Nov 13th, 07, 01:05 PM 68 or earlier engine with the oil filler on the manifold.
Fuzzyhall Nov 13th, 07, 01:09 PM I dont think this pic. will help whatsoever.
I will try to get a better pic. or some #'s
bil1024 Nov 14th, 07, 04:20 AM I say 10k for a decent driver
Hylton Nov 14th, 07, 08:03 AM Post all the numbers that are on the metal card.
Yellow69RSZ Nov 14th, 07, 10:14 AM $8k? 10k? Where are you guys buying them for that?

No numbers yet but he read some numbers off the deck on the block and none of them were 302 designations.
He said the previous owner confirmed it was so I'm assuming it's a 327 block-283 crank 302?

I never said I bought one for that. He asked how much it was worth. We have asked for pictures or other info. I couched it based on what the POP said and what condition the body is in. Also said it was my guess. What is your guess?
77thor Nov 14th, 07, 05:04 PM I just saw that the one advertised....... sounds very interesting, but I wouldn't even consider it without checking it out in person... I'm too far away for that
Daytona Yellow 69 Z/28 Nov 14th, 07, 06:56 PM I agree with others that if the POP says it was a pedigree car then it will be worth more than a P.J car. That being said, that car would be worth 15K all day long in my neck of the woods.
:beers:

If it is, the block most likely isn't a 69 block. To take a 283 crank, it would have to be a small journal (67 or earlier) 327 block.
More likely, it's not a 302. Was it a 69 motor from the numbers he gave you?
