i am restoring my 69ss with a BB in it it has a 10 bolt rear but i am planning on a 12 bolt and was wondering what is the best spring set up ,single or multi leaf . this is strickly a street cruiser and not a race carif that makes a difference. Thanks guys for all the help you have given me so far ,it goes along way!

If you plan on a 12 bolt I would go multi.... who knows what you may end up doing.... a day or 10 at the track  it happens...lol

Multis are better handling, plus, there are more 12 bolts with multis that were made than monos. And a 12 bolts with 5 leaf springs were standard equip on a 69 SS.

As far as I know all 12 bolt rear ends for Camaros had multi leaf pearches, so it would be easier to go with multi leaf.

Not in 67 :), 68 and 69 yes, but all 67 rears were mono springs including 12 bolt SS and Z28 cars.

Hmmm, why would the Z28's use 4 leaf springs and the BB used 5 leaf spring stacks? Increased torque? Or was to compensate for the heavier engines?

I would suggest a 5 leaf setup. If your car originally an SS and you have them, the leaf spring anchor plates would be for a 12-bolt. If your car was mono originally, then you will need new anchor plates.
