First read the book,Camaro-Untold Secrets by Wayne Guinn. Its tells All about the O dash codes.Waynes book is Great!! Where is the O dash code located,I've seen one between the 2 ribs above timing cover and one on the drivers side front of block. The one above the timing cover is also a TRACO stamped ZL1 which Ricks from Ricks First Generstion Camaros now has...I'm friends with Wayne Guinn by the way...

Thanks for the response. Yes, I've talked to Wayne...but I think we may have lost touch due to my e-mail issues. I'm trying to find out what this block may have been in. The O-dash number is on the front, between the ribs...and on the left rear Bellhousing lip...and the rear face. 70065 (which I know is from Vince Piggins) is on the stamp pad, and "53-W" beside that. Also has "CW" near rear casting number. I know from Wayne's book that it is Vince Piggins, but that's all it told me...Is this block a CAN AM...Prototype ZL-1, racing block...curious as to the history. 53-W seems to be the key. Might "Rick" know? Thanks.

Still waiting to hear from him...been at least a few days since he's had the numbers, and photos...maybe I'm just 'anxiously impatient' :) I just left another message. He's probably a very busy man...I'm patient.

Is there any stampings on the engine pad? I'm sure Wayne will get back to you.

Yep...70065 53-W. clear as day. I'm sure he'll contact me too, as he really is in the know, and has a real appreciation for these things. Gunny Out.

Interesting, the TRACO ZL1 has a 53-Y stamped on the engine pad and yours is a 53-W.

Ok I'll still some more info, the TRACO ZL1 motor is also 0-294550!! The other ZL1 O-Dash code I have info on is 0326711. The picture I have shows the code on the drivers side of the block and has a rectangle around it with the number inside it.

Yes...I've seen the other o-dash number (0-326711)...not sure of the difference between the two. I have no Traco stamp. Hopefully, I'll hear from Wayne soon...to solve the mystery.
