Does anyone make a "kit" to repair the quarter window in the 67 RS? This is the crank type, not electric. Mine only roll down part way then meet resistance. When I pulled the side panel I can see 40 years of leaves, dust, etc. I'm going to need to pull them and refurbish.

Hey Frankentef, I had same problem, & thought same thing which should be done but I didnt think it was needed to do all that pulling out stuff yet so, I took some none smelling bearing grease & greased all the tracks rollers & anything that moved. WOW:eek: What a big difference it makes, they roll all the way up & down nice & easy now, but if your not planning to go behind these panels any more and/or doing a restore job check for excess play, if any pull & repair. good luck:thumbsup:

I've already got the side panels off. Inside the track mechanism is dirty (leaves and trash in the bottom) and has light rust on it.

To clarify, just grease the tracks the rollers are on? The rollers do not look worn (from what I can see.)

clean the tracks, paint them, and grease liberally with lithium grease. I changed one roller (the one that bolts on) but I'm not sure it was necessary. The rollers really slide more than roll anyway. You'd be surprised what a difference cleaning and greasing makes!!!

Same exact situation here. I cleand mine and replaced the lower piviot. If yours gets stuck and rocking it makes it work then celan greese and IMHO replace the lower center roller

When "ya'll" did the cleaning, did you remove the entire 1/4 window from it's cradle? Or, did you clean & grease with it mounted?

If one has to remove it, how?

Also... the way both quarters are working is they will roll only part way down and one must take a hand and pull up on the quarter to get it to come back up. Does that indicate a bad bottom roller?

I removed mine...You remove the window first, and pull it out through the top. You have to remove the door jamb U-rubber for access. Then I carefully marked the position in the slots for all the studs on the track. Also taped the stud so it would not spin by accident. Then removed the track and regulator.

I took everything off the window in order to clean and paintplus I made a spanner wrench, but you could buy one. The roller on the window brace would not spin at all so I soaked the roller in wd 40 and worked it until it would spin...never did spin freely, but I think sliding is OK. That window will never go up and down enough to wear the nylon roller.

Then I put her back together. Took me a couple of hours per side, to realign everything, even with the care I took with the quarter window adjustment studs.

I didn't do this, but if the window alignment (door and quarter) is good, I'd remove and replace the quarter window before I messed with the door window. That will ease alignment. Then if you pull the door window later, alignment to the quarter will be easier, too.

THNX, don't suppose anyone, anywhere has documented this with pictures... i.e. "Quarter Windows for Dummies"
