Hey guys, you may have seen this car up for sale in the last day or two and I'm pretty sure I am going to buy it.

I will be sending a deposit tomorrow morning and the seller is going to hold it until I have a chance to go look at it. It was originally a RS car that has been sitting for 20 years.

The car runs and drives and can be registered/inspected and insured.

It was originally Daytona Yellow with a black custom interior. He just spent $1,000 on rear floor pan installation. The car still has the factory tach and the console with gauges. Picture shows engine not hooked up but it really is. The picture is old

What do you think it's worth?

here is the ad: UP FOR SALE IS X-11 R/S.THE CAR HAS BEEN IN STORAGE SINCE 1988.IT HAS A 350 W/350 TRANS.DELUXE BLACK INTERIOR W/CONSOLE AND GAUGES,POWER STEERING,COWL HOOD,REAR SPOILER,MANUAL DRUM BRAKES.CAR RUNS AND DRIVES.I JUST HAD THE REAR FLOOR REPLACED UNDER REAR SEAT AND BEHIND DRIVERS SEAT.FRONT FLOORS WHERE PATCHED LONG AGO,QUARTERS WHERE ALSO DONE.THE PAINT IS OVER 20 YEARS OLD.FRONT FENDERS ARE NOS NO PATCHES

Thanks guys!

I forgot to include the price!

I will be getting it for $12K

In my eyes, it's probably worth $15-$17,000?

I honestly can't tell by the pics how nice the car is or isn't but for 12K if it runs and isn't completely full of rust and/or bondo I would say your getting a good deal. If you can post some better pics and give more info on the condition after you see it that would really help in putting value on it. If you can, take a digital camera with you and snap pics of everything especially things with numbers such as the vin, trim tag, etc. Before you buy unless you know what your looking at make sure you post a pic of the trim tag and vin just to make sure it's original to the car and you know what your getting. If the car is an RS take good pics of both the front and rear of the car and remember that in 69 an the headlights were vacum operated so check for the factory hole on the drivers side of the firewall below the brake booster.

Justin,
I think you did a good job pulling the trigger on this tc advertised car with the deposit and sale subject to final inspection. (I don't know the car or the seller). When you inspect the car, take a check list with you to cover every detail (I created one if you want to pm me for a copy sent to your email), making sure you do a complete check for RUST, and a determination of the operating condition of the drivetrain, electrical, etc (see check list). Once evaluated, are you preparred to do the light restoration (been sitting for 20 years) yourself or pay someone to do part of it for you? Does it need to be repainted, does the drivetrain need to be pulled and refurbished, electrical issues and what is the approximate tally for parts and labor? Once you know all of that, you will be able to determine what your estimated final cost is and whether or not it is the right car for you. Charlie 69 RS
