View Full Version : rolling wheel lips on 69 nighttrain May 26th, 03, 03:50 AM has anybody done this on a 69 and what is the best way to go about it. thanks mike z chassisboy May 26th, 03, 04:47 AM I have done this on a few of my customer's cars. Using a hardwood baseball bat, place it between the tire and the wheel lip. Angle the handle of the bat towards the ground. Now, have a few friends push the car so that the bat rolls around the wheel lip driven by the tire. Guide the bat with your hand. To increase the clearance, either push down on the handle of the bat or have a friend sit on the fender of the wheel lip you are working on. This is all dependent on you having some friends. 4Barrel May 29th, 03, 04:53 PM I too have done this using an old wooden baseball bat, and it helps to have added weight (couple hundred pounds or so) applied to the side that you are working on. Be sure to take your time with this and maintain the same angle of the bat throughout the roll.
