: 69 Rs headlight motors missing
Thunderdownunder Nov 20th, 07, 03:17 PM Guys , im a new guy on here from australia, and ive just imported a 69 RS clone. Ive found it has no motors behind the headlights , A friend told me they sell an electric motor kit for these instead of the vacuum set up. Can anyone tell me about these ? or is the vacuum setup the go?. I need all the bits to get them working. Gavin in Oz
z10kl Nov 20th, 07, 06:01 PM There wern't any motors on them originally except on 67s. The vacume actuator should be under the inner fender in front of the tire. Most likley was a standard front end car and hidaways were added. If you want a clean non original working settup check out Detroit speeds electric conversion setup.
ccmblack Nov 20th, 07, 08:36 PM Ricks sells the electric headlight conversion. Prety simple addition. They also sell the wiring harness to go with it.
Eke Nov 21st, 07, 12:54 AM Rick's, Year One, Firewheel all sell the DSE kit to make them electric. That's the way to go IMO.

Hi Angel , the car came from california and was registered until october this year. I do have his rego papers and will try to make contact with him , it has a new crate engine and box and id like to work out exactly what i have. Talking in Australian dollars it cost me $35 grand to buy and get home and $10 grand to convert to right hand hook. How do i post pics on here? thru photobucket or ?

69 clone 350 /350 . big plans in Oz'
tgifford5 Nov 22nd, 07, 10:14 PM Go to the forum for electrical and wiring. There is a post there for RS headlight door conversion. The link in thread BPOS are very similar to those that I did. The extra rigging that they show is different from mine. Bellcranks are directly driven by the motors that they are using. I have photos that I can make copies of and instructions. PMme. Either way it's a slick set up and if a motor takes a dump on you when your out. There is a manual knob on the motors to open and close the headlight doors. The motors you can get at the salvage yard. I don't know what the other kits cost. But I had maybe $100 in it, can't remember for sure. Whatever you can get the motors for and a switch from Radio Shack.
