Did quick search didn't see this. Someone posted it on NastyZ28. Rare bench seat! :) Thoughts?

Not to be harsh but this guy seems to be out of touch. Says that there is minor rust about the size of a quarter? If I had a quarter as big as the rust spot shown in my pocket, I'd look like a rapper with my britches down around my ankles! C'mon...$16K for a basket case like this? I say divide by two,(maybe three)and you're getting pretty close to its worth. Must be a gold ingot hidden up under the dash!

The car has some problems, but compared to some of the 'projects' I have seen guys on this site tackling, I'd hardly call this one a basket case. I won't hazard a guess on the value, but at least it's not a Flinstone-mobile! And better yet, the seller isn't trying to claim that it's an RS, SS or Z/28!! No picture of the trim tag, though. That seems kind of strange. In that regard I agree with Bob's 'out of touch' comment, because nowadays that seems like the FIRST thing potential buyers want to see.

I sold my '68 26 years ago to a friend of mine, really gave it away. It had a built 327, M 20 with a Hurst super shifter, 12 bolt Posi with 4.10 gears, Cragers and a bench seat. It was red with a Z hood, rear spoiler and black stripes. It was my first car that I saved up for two years to buy from my brother.
The guy I sold to still has it,er whats left of it . He was injured at work and crushed his spine. He got addicated to OxyCotin and while under its influence, would take the Camaro apart. He even chilsed out the dash. Left it outside with no glass or doghouse on it for three years. The 12 bolt's perch mounts ripped off when he had the car loaded with his Army friends, on a hill turning onto another hill. He replaced it with a 10 bolt and never fixed the 12 and its gone now along with the M 22 that I put in the trunk when I sold it.
I took a pic of the bench seat which is in the garage of the house that he was renting but was kicked out of. Don't know if it is still there or not.

The buy it now is unrealistic, but maybe that is to stop the incessant requests for a price when you list a car like this on Ebay without one.

Looks like a nice project car. Near rust free original metal car located in the rust belt is worth a premium. Odd that the major selling point is bench front seat but comes with buckets?

Should be 720 trim with UU paint, a nice combo.

If I was in the market for a project car, it would be worth about 10K to me. But if someone is comparing it to the cost of a reproduction body, they would be way ahead with this car, IMHO.

That's not a 10K car in my neck of the woods, more like 6 or 7K........IMHO.

I agree with '68 Ragtop.....

I think overall this car is in decent shape...comes with alot of stuff that doesn't need replacing. If I was ready for another project I would go 9K or so on this car, maybe 10K.

I think alot of people on Ebay put a ridiculous BIN price hoping that they will get lucky. You never know, somebody might have had a car identical to this when they were a kid, etc and just have to have this one.

Point well made about the fact this car is in the rust belt and doesn't need to be entirely rebodied. I think he will get 10K plus on this car just for that fact-

Just to clarify,

The reason I referred to it as a basket case, was that it is almost entirely disassembled. Its gonna be a bear to move it, and for that reason alone, will diminish its value IMHO. A rolling project is going to bring alot more than one in 100 pieces.Just for the heck of it, I'd guess it will not break $7-$8K. Its got three days left, and only a touch above $4,000.

Bel Air,

You are right...it will take a weekend to gather everything up and 'hope' you got everything.
at the same time when one is apart it is easier to see everything. I would want to see pics of the A pillar areas up close and around the windshield/back glass areas before placing a bid on it...

if those areas are in good shape and i was looking for another project I wouldn't have a problem going 9-10k on this car. Besides I like the color combo:yes:

Trim and paint code is 727 and K-K, turquoise on turquiose not blue on blue.
Seller claims original paint. May be a canidate for survivor paint status.
