: How many Camaros made per week?
dbx1969 Nov 23rd, 07, 05:11 PM At least, in the last two months of production? I know my car was made the first week of Oct of 69', and I believe the "extended" 69' production ended at the end of November 69'? So I guess I'm trying to figure out roughly ..."My car was one of the last XXXX amount of 1st gen. Camaros made. Just curiosity making me ask.
Eric Kammerer Nov 23rd, 07, 07:34 PM Three.
No, wait... the last Norwood VIN is 711922
Yours is 697989
So, if my gazinta is working, yours is the 13,934th to last 69 Camaro assembled at Norwood.
Production in LA ended in July or thereabouts, so it's the 13,934th to last 1st gen Camaro.
Don't you feel better?
Ed Ernst Nov 23rd, 07, 07:43 PM To the best of my knowledge 11A (1969) was the last build date used on the Norwood trim tags.

LOL, Eric. How the hell did you know my number? You record this stuff whenever someone asks for a decode?
No, I don't feel better. Well, maybe a little. No, wait........

Hmmm...didn't know that. If true, then they only made cars at Norwood 4 full weeks after mine was made.
Old Man Nov 23rd, 07, 09:03 PM Kevin I thought I remembered seeing a thread not long ago that had daily production numbers in it. Mines just ahead of yours being an 09C and I bet Eric has it in his data base too, lol.

Mwaaahhahahaaaa! Know all, see all!
Actually, I used the advanced search for your posts, keyword "VIN". Not too hard...:)

* One of the last Camaros ever made. Technically, the newest 1st gen on the market. Don't wait, this original Z/28/SS/RS/RS/SS/Convertible won't last long priced at only $276,000 (that exotic import 67' RS has nothing on this beauty)*
Yeah, I'm just trying to find out as many facts about the car as possible. I even e-mailed the previous, previous owner to try to get some info on the previous owner before him :). But when you don't have a pedigree, chances are slim that I'll be able to trace it very far back. It was still worth an e-mail to try. He's actually a member here, but he's not active.
Mark C Nov 24th, 07, 06:10 AM Norwood produced 941 cars a day at capacity, so they had the ability to make about 4700 cars a week. 11A is the last build week. It may or may not represent a single calendar week.
JohnZ Nov 24th, 07, 06:36 PM Standard volume at Norwood was 912 per day (57 per hour, two 8-hour shifts). :)
yellow69RS Nov 24th, 07, 09:31 PM WooHoo that makes my 10E production just 4943 from the end! That adds some credability to the 4700 cars a week figure.
