Not sure which forum to post this in, but I want to clean up my rear end of all the grime on it and then re-paint it. I do not want to remove it from the car. What is the best product to use to degrease all the grime and then clean. After that what is the correct paint to use?

Marine Clean is a great degreaser and cleaning product. Remove it from the car? What part of the rear of the car exactly are you talking about?

The rear axel. My leafs are new and look it - the rear end has about a quarter inch of grime on the axel housing and the pumpkin is really bad.

Ah, OK. I'd just use Marine Clean (1 part MS to 3-5 parts HOT water) if you have some. If not, any common degreaser sold at Home Depot, Lowes etc., should work just fine. As far as painting, I'm not sure. Personally, I'd just use a good quality flat black paint. That's what mine looks like it was painted and I like it the way it is.

I think the black flat would be right - but is there a type of paint that should be used to avoid peeling or flaking?
