Will a Rochester quadrajet carburetor from a 1974 350 engine work just fine on an all original 327/275?

I found out in the process of rebuilding my carburetor that it is not (apparently) original to my car. My car was built in November of 66. The numbers on the carburetor I pulled off my car indicate its for a 1965 396 corvette.

They wouldn’t have put this carburetor on my engine from the factory, right???

I would like to put another Rochester quadrajet on my car (temporarily) until I can find a date coded, & numbers correct carburetor for my engine. I don't know which other quad's would fit & work properly. Thanks

You're probably better off with the vette carb.
The 74 will physically fit, other than some possible differences in the choke setup, but 74 was "the worst" year for emissions carbs, and the tuning is likely to be VERY WEIRD!

Your Quadrajet is going to have the incorrect Jets, Rods, and Secondary for your size motor. My Quadrajet for my 327 was jetted by Sean Murphy Inductions and he used JET:74 / ROD:42K / SEC:AU

You better check your listings. The 65 corvette 396 didn't have a Q-jet it had a 780 holley.

You're right. I looked it back up in my book & on the net. They all say 7025200 is for a 396 with auto tranny. It had been a while since I actually read it & just starting thinking it was a 1965 396 corvette. :)

The jetting on the 7025200 won't be significantly different than the 70272xx carb that came on your 327.
