What is one of these little buggers worth? I think it is a heat sink of sorts for the 8 track player. it was mounted under the dash attached to one of the braces. Is it a rare part? I would think it would be the piece that somebody might forget to remove. I found the name of it on Pg431 of the assembly manual.

Thanks

Does it still have the transistors, wiring and brackets attached?

It is worth quite a bit, especially to someone who may have an 8-track player but is missing the heat sink. The 8-track player will not work without the heat sink. You are right that it is a part that most don't take out, hence the reason many players and heat sinks become separated. I sold a 1969 8-track player with matching heat sink and complete uncut wiring harness on ebay about six months ago for $1800. I can't put a dollar value on the heat sink by itself but I'd say at least a few hundred.

Hmmm, a buddy of mine had a '69Z back in the day with an 8 track and it was mounted backwards on the console just ahead of the rear ashtray. I am pretty sure it came from the factory that way unless the dealer installed it before delivery.

Hmmm, it is more than a heatsink, does anyone know what it does exactly? With those transistors, is it a remote amplifier for the 8 track?
