When I bought my car it had nothing in the dash. No wiring, no vents, nothing.

I need to build a working heater from scratch basically. Now I know I need to obvious parts like the outer core cover, core itself, and inner core cover. Is there anything else?

I also think I need a defroster vent assembly and some ducting. Then is it just about buying the heater controls and wires and plugging them in. ?

I have an assembly manual but they arent all that easy to read if you dont know what your looking at.

The heater controls, if purchased new can be a bit pricey. Close to $200 dollars in some of the catalogs that I have seen. That's for all first gen. years.

hey John, are building a BB or a small block? In one of your pics you have the outer case installed but can't tell if it's for a SB or BB. I have the inner and outer cases with a brand new heater core as well. I went ahead and smoothed out my firewall so I don't plan on using it, let me know if you're interested. I'm in Sacramento.
