I am aware of top coat over primer can you use filler over primer? NCP 271 primer/Rage
Thanks Danny
I had a mishap and I was wondering if I have to go back to bare metal or if I can fill over the primer.

I know of no recommendations to apply filler over any other than epoxy primers.

PPG line of LIC {Light Industrial Coatings} has EPX 900, mix equal parts with EPX 901. It's an older version of DP. I sprayed it on the wifes car then applied filler over it. It works the same as DP but only comes in yellow. The cost is less then half that of DP. I've been using it at work since my PPG store told me about it.

The price of the EPX-900 was 35.61 a gallon, and 22.35 for the gallon EPX-901 catalyst. Walk in price is 44.51 and 27.94 respectfully. Much cheaper then DP cost.

I sent this thread to a tech rep I communicate with at PPG's Ohio offices and received the following answer.........
"EPX900 is very similar to the old DP. It's not a formal PPG recommendation, but body filler should work fine over EPX900. Just like it did with the old DP.
You can also put body filler over NCP271, but the NCP must be cured and sanded first."
