I'm talking about heater hoses here. If I'm doing a correct restoration of '69 BB coupe (end of March build) do I go with the ribbed heater hoses or the GM marked smooth hoses. I'm fairly sure that it would be the ribbed hoses, but want to be sure.
Also, while I'm at it, same car ... 5500 in Dash Tach or 6000 RPM (redline) Tach. The car has the 120MHP speedo. I have 6000 redline Tech ready to install so I wanted to make sure on that. I funny feeling about this though.
Thanks.

I vote 'Ribbed' & 5500 tach.

Neither, you want grooved! :)

And the tach for a COPO is higher than 5500, I have to check the book tonight to be sure.

Grooved ... Ribbed ... You are so Technical Kevin :) And thank goodness to that!
Ok, so "grooved" it is. I'm really hoping for the 6000 redline tach as I already have one of those.

Some of the repro houses say ribbed, but they mean "raised" ribbed, not recessed ribbed i.e. grooved. I am an IT guy, I HAVE to be literal :) I just bought a set from Jeff. according to Jerry's 69 fact book, all big block solid lifter moters (396/375 and 427) got a 7000 rpm tach with 6000 redline. Is that what you have?

Thanks guys for the info and pics. Looks like I was on the right track. Kevin - Yes the tach I have is the higher redline 6000 RPM one.

COPOs were 6000/7000 for the entire model year. Z/28 started with 6000/7000, then moved to 6000/8000 around January, and I think 6500/8000 at the end. For some reason, they continued to supply the L78 and COPO with the 6000/7000.
Supplier Stock? John Z may know the reasoning.
