I have just realized after my Camaro was restored that my trim tag is missing. Is there anyone would know where to get a new one by providing my vin number.

Thanks

Frederic

Do you have any other documentation for your car? Once your trim tag is gone you really have three options and none are really good ones.

1) You try and track down your cars original tag, if this can't be done
2) You buy a reproduction trim tag making your car suspect to everyone looking to buy it that can spot a fake
3) Best option, you leave the tag off the car and use the documentation that you have or document the original parts of the car by matching up the #'s.

If you have an SS or a Z/28 or another special car you can match the drivetraine #'s and other key parts to identify the car as such. Once your tag is lost though there is no easy fix and it will compromise resale value somewhat.

I would contact Mark C or Kurt S on this board. They may have your car in their vast database and may have an image of your trim tag so you can have it reproduced properly . You can also post your VIN here if you want and I am sure Mark or Kurt will see it .

I would also go back to whatever shop had your car and tell them to tear the place apart looking for it

Theres always the "bucket o' trim tags" guy on Ebay.

I would rather leave it off then put a fake one on though. People think if you put a fake tag then they start thinking other stuff isnt real also.

Definately be pissed at the shop that did the car though if they are the ones that took the tag.

Fredo,

If that shop can't find the tag, they owe you big time. They will need to get out a large check book to cover the damage. Charlie 69 RS

I can't believe this. You guys are suggesting repro tags and even the bucket guy on ebay? This is getting stupid. If your tags missing leave it alone don't support the trimtags.com or the scumbag with the bucket.

This is interesting. No mention of what model (SS, RS etc.). Why was it removed? A tag does not need to be removed for a restoration. What did the TT say? What is really going on here?

From the looks of it,its not an original car so why would you need the TT any way? Looks like the clutch master is where the TT was.

I think it was intended as a slam against the guy selling the fake tags on ebay. He has a bucket of the tags in the pic.

:noway: The reverse lights are located incorrectly as far as RS option.

You have a nice looking desirable Camaro and with the modifications, I see no need for a trim tag. Your Camaro restoration destination is more pro touring than stock. She is probably more valuable as such and cheaper for you or the next owner to keep heading in that direction.

After a year working on the car we realized that the tag was missing. I'm european and I did not know much about but I loved the car so when I bought it ,I did not pay attention to this important detail. Now I had two potential buyers but because of that they were not interested anymore.
A Corvette dealer is interested but they will ask for it so what do I do???
