BMAN,

He told you it is an RS for sure, and maybe an SS. If it had the 327 275HP than it was just an RS. The L30 M20 cars are really nice either way. Drop your gas tank and or remove your back seat, and look for a build sheet or broadcast sheet. If you find this paper, you will then know for sure what you have. Does the car have it's original engine?
I'm not sure what Strato seats are, but I'm sure if you google it, you'll probably find a picture. If I find one, I'll post it for you.

If it's a Norwood built car the chances of finding your buildsheet are very small, that was more of a Los Angeles thing. To find out if the car is an SS check to see where the speedometer cable makes penetration through the firewall. If the car was an original four speed SS car then it should make penetration to the right of the steering column, if it's to the left, you have an L30/M20. Does the car have the original tranny and/or rearend? If the car is an SS it would have come with a Muncie trans vs. a Saginaw and a 12 bolt rearend. The 1967 L30/M20 could be had with the 10 bolt rear in January when your car was built vs. the 12 bolt, which would tell you alot.

Nobody asked this first basic question: is it a V8 VIN ? should be 124377Nxxxxxx

Does it have an SS hood and SS hood springs (28 coils vs. 26 for standard)?

If the firewall isn't hacked up, the hole for the Muncie speedo cable should still be visible near the distributor location.

If it still has original frame rails, it should have the bracket where the radius rod bolted at the front of the passenger side frame rail.

The speedo cable hole in the firewall should still be present unless the firewall has been hacked up. Without the engine, tranny or rear that's the only way I know to tell, anyone else care to give it a stab?

I think it is supposed to be an inch dia. The hole drilled at an angle next to the distributor is a Muncie hole.

If it still has the tire pressure sticker in the glove box does it have a "G" or "H" in the chevy insignia at the 12 o'clock positions.

An "H" would be an indicator of wider tires and an SS....

Although, I think you could special order the wider tires in the L30/M20 RS also.

Anyone else have more information on this?
