My 67 RS top is stuck in the down position. The motor makes no sound when we throw the switch. Is there a way to release the motor so I can put the top in the up positon to take into the shop.?

Easiest (if you can get to them) is to unbolt the top of the hydraulic rams from the top frame. Not sure if this is possible with the top all the way down though.

You might just get a voltmeter and do some checking, might be easier to just fix it. There is a circuit breaker on the firewall near the brake booster, you should have battery power to ground on both studs.

Then check the switch. 3 terminals, 1 should have battery power all the time, one should when switch is "up" last one should when switch is "down"

jim is correct...

check power at the breaker on the firewall.both sides of it. and go from there.

its also not a big deal to check from the other end..

remove backseat and check power at the motor while a freind controls the switch.

remember to check for ground at the motor as well!!!!!

electrons have to flow full circle!!!!!!!
