Hey guys I am getting ready to order some buffing wheels and compounds to polish the trim on my 67 camaro.
Does anyone know what the trims are made of?
I know the glass trim is stainless, but what about the lower rocker trim (wide rs trim)and wheel well opening trim?
Thanks, Ray

Stainless is correct. I did mine a few years ago at home with stuff from Sears. It looked very nice until I saw some done by a pro. It made mine look sick. I am in the process of cleaning the roof rail stainless and I am going to remove the window trim and send it off to a local polisher. He did my locks and stuff and it looks like chrome. I just have to do it.

Lower rocker RS trim and wheel well trim is anodized aluminum, not stainless (unfortunatley). You can remove the coating with oven cleaner, then buff it out. Re-anodizing can be done again, but you'd be better off buying new. If you don't coat it, it will need polishing often.

John's right, sorry for not reading accurately, anodized aluminum on the RS door trim. Mine is pretty well far beyond polishing even taking off the aluminum coating. Looks like another order off to a supplier for $149.00.

Thanks guys! How is the quality of reproduction trim for the RS lower 6 pc kit.?
I bought some repro rear glass trim and it was so bad I ended up buying restored originals(very nice).
