This looks like to be an original unmolested nicely optioned 1970 RS Camaro. It has A/C, defrost and a host of other goodies. It's a shame that someone had to add the Z28.10 to the tag. The Z28 did not come with A/C if I recall correctly until 1973. And I am 100% certain A/C was not an option on the 1970 Z28. Very sad too see the Z28.10 added. If that part of that tag isn't fake then I am Santas Claus and I am typing this post while Rudolph my Reindeer is taking my Camaro out for a test drive. :D

At least the seller is honest enough to sell it as a very nicely option 1970 RS Camaro. It needs a little work but I like the fact it's not a butchered up car. Props to the seller for being honest here. They are giving very nice description of the car with. This car reminds me a little of my first Camaro ( a 1969) that I bought 18 & 1/2 years ago. Hard to find 'em in this condition.

It looks like someone added filler over the tag and then wittled the numbers out. I bet that would scrape right off.

I thought that the 70's had the one piece rear spoiler??? Looks like it needs a ton of work.

I lost interest in the 70 models and did very little research, but I do believe 1970 was the first year a Z could get AC. Maybe NastyZ site could verify this. This is a Fla car for real. Where's Barnacale Bill?

No power brakes + A/C = No Z/28

Ok I made a mistake, guess I was thinking that there was something a 70 Z could get that a first gen could not and it AT. Not AC. You caught me before I could get back from Nasty site. Still reading on the AT.

Quote from NastyZ:
If the car was built in LA.... The Z28 has a 8000 RPM tach, which redlines at 6500 RPM. Low performance cars have 7000 RPM tachs and lower redlines. The Z28 has a 3/8" fuel line (and a return line?). Low performance cars don't have the "big" fuel lines.
ALL Z28's got the F41 suspension, which means there will be a rear swaybar on the car, or presense of one. Since the rear swaybar brackets are welded to the frame, it'll still be there even if the bar is removed. The car will have a 12 bolt in it. 8 bolts and a couple brake lines and you can unbolt this and run off with the expensive 12 bolt, which has been known to happen. The (1970 only) Z28 originally had a 12 bolt rear. It's not uncommon for a 10 bolt to be sitting under the car now for whatever reason. Obviously the 1971 Z28 has a 10 bolt rear end.
The Z28 WILL NOT HAVE AIR CONDITIONING. None. Verify that there are no traces of A/C (ducting, kick panels, big hole in the firewall for evaporator).
The Z28 can be an automatic, or a 4 speed. If the car was an automatic, it was a TH400. The TH400 has an electric kickdown, so if you have a cable kickdown from a TH350, you have a problem. Verifying a pre-1972 SS
