what colors did the SS 396 come in? and were there any colors specifically only for SS 396?

Colors were not limited to ceratin models per se. Special colors could be ordered. Z21 and Z22 blackout rocker paint was not available on certain dark body colors. Blackout tailpan paint was only for SS396. Pace cars may be an exception also. Not sure on those. A partial explaination is here:
