When I purchased my 68, it came with a few chrome pieces that all need to be redone. Cowl vent panel, heater box, hood latch bracket, front radiator support, and radiator support brackets. They were done several years ago near as I can tell because they are all pitted to some degree. Given the high cost of plating ( at least in this state ), I would leave the underhood parts for the very end. I think the cowl panel looks good chrome though, and am looking for feedback pos. or neg. I was thinking about getting another one to have painted to match the car, but I really like the chrome look. I haven't seen this on any other car, and want to know what you all think.
Would it look gaudy? (working on getting pics).

I have never seen one like that either, but personally I do not like the idea. Maybe if your going to cruise it in T.J. that would be cool. No offense. smile.gif But its would depend alot on the color of the car also. A silver, dark blue, etc.. might look good.

As Tony says, don't like the idea. Here in Houston I see quite a bit of body chroming. Gas caps, fender extension, cowls, inner fenders. Those cars aren't musclecars though, they are lowriders with spoke wheels in candy green flake with pot leaves painted on them.
You can pick up a replacement cowl at any swap meet for peanuts and paint it to match. Switch um out and you can decide.

No offense taken here. I was looking for honest opinions either way. I know what you guys mean about going overboard, and I would'nt take it quite that far. I have a line on a replacement original so I can swap back anytime. Thanks for your input. Tom
