Everett#2390 Dec 10th, 07, 06:48 PM Usually, an A/C equipped car will be automatic, usually. SBC will be Powerglide, BBC would be THM400.
I'm betting SBC w/'Glide, console shift, and with A/C, maybe P/S & P/B.
Eric Kammerer Dec 10th, 07, 08:49 PM Does the car have A/C? Could you have misread the "E"?
The reason I ask is that it is not common to see the 2G code without either an "M" (Glide), "L" (4-speed floor shift), or "B" (3-speed floor shift) code. I could see misreading a 2BG as 2EG.
steverino Dec 10th, 07, 09:56 PM The 4th line on my '67 trim tag begins with the letter E with an open space then 2L to designate 4 speed. It was a Norwood built car also. I would guess that if your car had a 4 speed originally it would be designated in the same place. I checked a decoding website and the information above checks out. You should have had a letter designation if you had a 4 speed, 3 speed on the floor or a Powerglide transmission. I would assume that if nothing showed up you had a three speed on the column which would have been standard equipment.

John510 Dec 10th, 07, 11:36 PM you can always look underneath the car at the tunel. Factory 4 speed would have a reinforcement around the hole cut out for the shifter

I am looking at the picture I took and the E is a definate. The G the line going back toward the center is not as pronounced as the G on the right side. Could it be 2EC ?
67ss350camaro Dec 11th, 07, 06:39 AM If it is 2EG then it is a 3-speed stick (the standard trans), with A/C and a console. It can not be an auto trans, because it does not have a M. If it was 2EMG then it would have been a auto trans (powerglide).
It can not be 2EC. C is not a code used in group 2.
Can you post the vin#?
68camtruck Dec 11th, 07, 05:23 PM Sure here is the Vin 124377N246006
Thanks to all of you for the information :)

67ss350camaro Dec 12th, 07, 05:32 AM The vin lines up fine with the cowl tag. Looks like the car is/was a 327/3-speed with A/C.
