Hey Guys,
I need some help on wiring up my convert top motor. My wiring has been hacked and i am trying to make it right again but i have no clues as to where the convert motor wiring goes to. if anybody has a wiring diagram for this it would help me out alot. I have all the diagrams for a regular 67' camaro RS but not for the convertible RS. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks:confused:if somebody could give me some clue as to where this wiring goes i could get my ride on the road. thanks guys

Dave - I am going to reply here, and do another post of my own to point to this one.
based on your response in the thread about the seats, it sounds like you don't have any wiring for the top at all. Far as I know, there is no diagram for this part of the electrical system. I checked both the Fisher Body Manual and the Chassis Service Manual, and didn't see anything either place.
Here's what I know and what I don't, and we'll appeal to the other vert owners with power tops for help.
The power top pulls power from the buss bar at the bottom of the horn relay. I believe it comes off the same terminal as the big red wire for main feed to the fuse box.
From the buss, power goes via a single fat (10 gage??) wire to a 30 A circuit breaker on the firewall above and to the driver side of the booster/master cylinder (sorta level with trim tag, but opposite side). You should see two bumps where it mounts, or two holes if a breaker was there before.
The power comes off the breaker via another single fat wire and passes through the firewall (through a grommet) to behind the dash. My 68 was a power top car, and glancing back through the photos (nothing worth scanning), it looks like an orange wire passing through the firewall between the fuse box and steering column. If your car was a factory power top car, check for an "extra" hole there, about 3/8 to 1/2 inch or so in diameter.
There is a disconnect plug on the through the firewall piece, and I think that's where the factory power top harness comes into play. I think it has a short jumper that goes from the thru firewall disconnect plug to the switch connector plug, which also has the two wires going back to the pump on it. This three spot connector plugs into the back of the switch, which mounts in the dash at the bottom and to the left on the instrument bezel.
If you don't have any wiring at all for this, it loows like the American Autowire FactoryFit numbers you'd need are:
70627 Power Accessory Feed Wire ($10)
71733 Power Accessory Thru Firewall Harness ($15)
71716 Power Top Harness ($47)
The 30A breaker is $25, and there used to be complaints about the repro's non-original appearance. Don't know if that issue has been solved.
The switch and housing it mounts in from underneath is $55.
What we need other guys to do is confirm what I recall about the routing, and give a better description and/or pictures of exactly where the thru firewall lead routes on a 67.
Tell me if this helps, and exactly what you're working with on your end (some wires, no wires, installing a power top on an original manual top car, etc.), and we'll go from there.

I just went and looked again at my firewall and yes Eric you are correct i do have an extra wire going through my firewall. i have no breaker but i do see where it goes now. I also do not have the power wire that goes from the buss bar to the breaker. But i do know where it all goes now thanks to you. LOL " and knowing is half the battle" This is good news i should have my top working by this afternoon. Thanks guys!!
