I'm in the process of re-restoring my 69 Z/28 that is the first car I bought when I turned 16,aprox. 30 years ago.I have a fresh GM 3849346 302 cam and I'm looking for specs on OE valve springs.I know that aftermarket springs that are listed for most small blocks are in the 85-90# range @1.70 installed .The fresh set of 3927186
heads I recently purchased have aftermarket springs that measure 130# at 1.70 & 300# at 1.25 I don't want to over spring the cam with todays oils. What do guys think? Thanks J-Dub.

Those springs will be trouble. The stock Z/28 springs had the same rate specs as Granny's 307 Chevelle grocery-getter; 80#-85# closed @ 1.70", and 190#-200# open @ 1.25". That's the beauty of the "soft-touch" ramp profile on the factory cams, and the secret of their valvetrain reliability.
