I know this is a question that has probably have been answered before but I have to ask. I just recently purchased a matching numbers 69 RS. I will be restoring back to original. The question I have is what type of striping was available for that year of car?? I know Z28 stripes were only a “Z” option but thinking of putting them on anyway. The only thing is you see this stripe everywhere, would like to be different. So if someone could fill me in on the details of the different stripe options for this car it would be great.

RS's only got pinstiping above the wheelwells. There are two thin stripes, one is about 1/4" and one is 1/8", they start at the lower front edge of both front and rear wheelwells and extend backwards onto the door, and quarter panel towards the rear side marker. These were only used part year as well, up to Feb or so of 69. They were used on Pace Cars after Feb as well.

D96 Hockey stripes, and DX1 modified bumblebee stripes, were available as options, but non were included with the RS package.

Z stripes were not available on any other car except Pace Cars.
