Had a friend who is familiar with body mounts(Bodyman)look at the bushings..He tells me the problem why the rear bushings are bulging outward around the washer is because the washer on the nut is not the correct one...He stated the WASHER should be alittle bigger than the bushing and when it compresses the bushing the bushing expands outward alittle bushing in the rear 1 3/4" (But not to the point that it folds around the washer)...Right now washer is smaller than the bushing by about 1/4 inch all the way around...I did notice that the rear WASHERS on the bushing were smaller than the washers on the bushings on the firewall(Firewall washers 2 1/2")...Is this setup correct?? Or is my buddy right about the washer having to be larger than the bushing...(are all 4 washers the same size in the rear except for the rad support..That he said rad support one is smaller)..Any thoughts before I order another kit...was thinking about just ordering the correct washers(If I indeed have the wrong ones)..Any help would be appreciated..Thanks in advance

My subframe washers are 2-7/16" and the core support is 2-3/8"

Also, there is a washer inside the rear bushings that touches the floor pan when tightend down. if it is missing the bushing will collapse.

The backbone is there ..The bushing that is compressing is the one that washer rests on or the lower bushing(I believe the rear washer is to small approx 1 3/4" that is why I believe the lower bushig ballons out of the washer when torqued down to 80 ftlbs)...So the rear ones are bigger..OK..now should the lower ones compress more than the top ones(the ones against the body...Thanks again

The upper bushing should not compress too much. My subframe is out right now and the bushings were new. The lower one did seam to compress alot. I am building the car for street/strip so I will be putting solid mounts in. I've heard they dont change ride quality and are better if you frame connecters.
