Does anyone have experience rebuilding rusted mounting brackets on cocktail shakers?

If done correctly, do you think this will detract from a NON concourse car?

I am collecting assorted units, some in great shape, some with rusted mounting brackets. I want to use the best and resell the balance after I rebuild to rusted brackets.

Your thoughts?:confused:

Haven't tried it but can't see any reason not to.

I'll take the misfits...my 67 has none.

If they are in the front, you can't really see the brackets anyway. I had mine repaired for rust on the brackets but did not have to weld along side of the canister. If the oil got hot and expanded you could have a big problem.

The one's in the trunk obviously are more visible and IMO require more detailed refurbishing.
