For one of the 69's, I'm prepping a used deck lid for primer and paint. It has some minor surface rust on the underside. I can't get to some of the rust that's between the top and bottom sheetmetal. What's the secret to removing the hard to get to cancer?

Secondly...this deck lid will be getting a spoiler soon. The "Camaro" emblem will be removed. What's the best way (simple and clean) to patch up the four holes that hold this emblem (these holes will end up under the spoiler).

What I did was sand most of it off...Use what ever you have to get as much of it off as you can...I used sand paper by hand..When I couldn't get at with the small engle grinder or wire brush..(but a sand blaster might help...When your done use some good etching primer..

As for the holes in the deck lid you can place a plate from under the lid and tack weld through the holes..Fill them with glass..Or you can just seal the holes so water doesn't enter the trunk..the spoiler will hide the rest.....Good luck
