I'm getting ready to install new full quarters and outer wheelwells on my 1969 convertible. Does anybody who's done this to a convertible know if I need to do any special body bracing before I remove a panel? I'd hate to cut a full quarter out and realize the body sagged.----Also, after installing new quarters, I'm putting it on a rotisserie and am not sure if it needs special bracing while on it. I've done this type of work before, but this will be my first try on a unibody convertible.--Thanks

To do quarters and outer wheelhouses you don't need bracing, but it would be a good idea to slightly brace the car from the leaf spring front area. On a rotisseri, DEFINITY need temp braces welded in

Do one side at a time. Remove one, replace. Then do the other side. You will have to brace the door jamb area since the doors will be off.

you want the doors and fender on to make sure the body lines match, this will also help stiffen the car a bit too, goodluck

Here is a pic of my car after the wheelhouses, driver quarter and floor were removed. You can see the extra rods tacked it to keep the rear from sagging. Very important you do this, especially of you are doing work to the floor pans.

With the inner wheelhouses , yes, I would use braces, but he's just doing the outer wheelhouses so he won't need braces there.
