I am adding rear quarter louvers to my car which has never had them. I bought the louver stencil kit which is supposed to show where the original mounting holes should be drilled, but my body shop says they laid it out and it has to be wrong. They are asking me for some photos of a few cars with louvers installed so they can pinpoint where they should go relative to the indentations in the body.

I could use a few close-up pics from some of you who have original louvered cars so I can give them to them, thanks.

The front edge of each louver on the trim piece matches up the rear edge of each indention in the quarter panel starting from the rear of the quarter panel..

In simple terms it would be, indention, louver, indention, louver, indention, louver .

what i did, i bought a set of old louvers to use as a templete. simply grind off the studs and drill thru where the studs were. it worked out good for me.

I would get a set of louvers to them for final fitment before paint.

69isfine, I have a set that I also ground off and drilled out the studs. So you lay them in place and mark the holes. Your welcome to use them if you promise to ship back. Got the idea from kevinW.

Great idea guys. What about just using poster board? Press it onto the chrome piece, trace the outling and cut it out with an exacto knife. The holes are already made for you when you push the board onto the chrome piece.

man, where were u when i was doing mine, i would have gladly returned them, instead i bought a set off a member here for $20. using poster board still wont cut it. using the actual louvers, you can feel when there in place, as they go in a certain way, get them off a little and they wont fit right

Thanks for the pics, David and Lloyd. Smith69Z, I sent you a PM with my address, you are the man. The car is already painted, so an exact fit is what I'm looking for as I don't want to drill in the wrong place. Being able to use Smith's as a template will make things much easier. Anyone else have a few closeups of them on an original car just to make sure I align them correctly?
