I would like to know if some of you have a 68 SS with the original stripes that go from the header panel all the way to the doors. I'm about to drill the repro fenders to locate the Camaro and SS emblems and have a doubt. I'm using a Rick's first gen template but when I lay out the template on the fender with masking tape and then place the stripe over it, I noticed that the stripe bottom touches the top of the SS emblem (around 1/4"). If I look at a Year one catalog I see an SS 68 that have those lines and the only emblem that touches the stripe is the camaro one, and just the bottom of the "C" letter of it. I would make any adjustment to the template but I need your comments on this first, you know holes don't come in boxes with an eraser included. I'll wait for your responce and then drill...

ORENCH, I plan on adding the 68 SS stripes and want to make sure that the Camaro, SS and engine emblems are placed properly also and tried the templates too. The templates are ok for the Camaro and SS emblems but are terrible for the engine designation emblem. If you plan on buying the stencil kit to do the stripes, which you should, then I recommend that you buy the stencil kit now. Use the stencil kit to help place the emblems in the proper location. Especially for the engine designation emblem. You can play with the templates all you want and you can get the emblem straight but it may not look right when you get the stripes done. Get the stripe template and mark the emblems using them so you are guaranteed the emblems will look right once painted
