bigsteve Dec 26th, 07, 01:03 AM Does anyone know of a aftermarket slider bracket that makes the drivers seat slide back further than the original position of thosen of us that are taller than the average camaro owner? I thought that I had seen something like this for a firebird/ trans am.
Thanks Steve

bigsteve Dec 27th, 07, 01:57 AM These can be installed without any modifications or cutting of the carpet?
69OlympicGoldSS Dec 27th, 07, 05:26 AM Yep, they just bolt right in. Might be the quickest mod. you will ever do!

These look better than what I made. I suppose you will still have to provide some type of anchor bolt ( threads facing up) to attach seat frame or are these new holes threaded? Do these provide any type of seat angle lift in the front?
madmax87 Dec 27th, 07, 06:17 PM New ones have a bolt welded to the bottom and does not interfere with the bracket sitting flat. I did not see any angle lift in the front when I installed mine.
Fred Mertz Dec 27th, 07, 07:03 PM You might put a spacer between the bracket and the floor to get a little tilt. I probably wouldn't go more than a 1/4 inch, just to be safe.
I'm happy with mine now that it's been a few months. I got the same brackets as the picture above. 2 of the bolts cross threaded after they were in about 1/2 inch. I had to take it all apart and to tap out the holes and replace with new bolts.
I still want to do the passenger seat. I just haven't made the call.

Well I made the call, gentleman was very informative. He said basically what we have said here, they bolt down then seat bolts to frame that had nuts welded to underside. They do not have any front lift to them. Wish I would have seen these several years back. I did install 1/2 spacer to front to give the seat some tilt back . $40 per side.
click Dec 27th, 07, 09:17 PM self serve works good too :D
