Looking for some different opinions on what to do. I have to replace the spring perches on the rear of my Wife's 68 Camaro. We are using multi leaf springs. To eliminate any possibility of rear movement I don't want to use the stock pads to insulate the spring. We are using the traction bars with J Hooks. Can I use the mono leaf mount to compensate for the height difference? Has anyone ever done this? If I didn't have to change the perches I would just cut down an extra leaf to make up the height difference.
What do you think?
Oh, since someone is bound to ask, the car is currently a 454 with an Edelbrock Cross Ram, Turbo 400 trans, and a 12 bolt with 4:10.

I personally dont like slapper bars, now would be the opportunity to install Caltracs along with poly insulator pads with the center eyelet sleeve. I dont have Caltracs yet but do have multi leafs and the Energysuspension rubber pads. Nothing has moved yet.
Why do you have to replace the perches? Rusty?

Perches are welded in the wrong spot and wrong pinion angle. The car is done like a Day 2, we're trying to keep as much as possible from the era. I know the cal tracs are better, but they don't fit the image of the car. Our goal is to have it look like a late 60's early 70's street racer.

Spring perch shims are available in several degrees, can be applied to front or rear to correct the normal . Jacking the back end up , ie. 60's/ 70's style, hijackers, longer spring shackles , L40 tires sticking out wheel wells 10", will change much of the stock pinion angles. So If thats what your are doing, then I understand why you need to cut. Been there, done that.

L-40 tires, give me a break!!!!!!
L-60's, right-on!!
Stock mono- placement, L-60's w/ slappers is HARD TO BEAT and I don't care what Don has to say about them!!
