I apologize if this has been addressed before, but what is the correct color of the alternator pulley for a 68 RS 327/275?

I am under the impression that the originals were aluminum in color and that replacements were gold.

Looked under the hood of a low miler orig Cam and I seem to remember that it was aluminum in colour...but if you asked a "CRG" they might give you a definitive answer.

This was just discussed again a couple months ago.
The fans were Zinc Plated and finished with a mild DiChromate wash that gives them a 'gold-ish' look sometimes. This process is common with the chromate wash used to give a slightly oxidized surface and resist the white residue surface formation (Zinc 'rust') common to straight Zinc finishes.
This process is also refered to as "Gold Iridite" in some specifications.
A newer fan almost always "looks" gold-er, but they are not Phosphate Gold or Cadmiun plated.

Wouldn't the standard groove pulleys be stamped, rather than turned like the deep groove? I know the deep groove pulley colors were discussed recently, but I was under the impression that the stamped pulleys were all silver cad or something similar.
