Hey all,

Here is what I have, 68 SS 505 C.I.D Big Block 650 HP 695 LB torque, DSE mini tubs TH400 3500 sthall 4.10 Dana. I am thinking of adding a high end overdrive so I can get a little bit more street out of the car, has anyone used an aftermarket O.D with this much horsepower before?
This is unit I am thinking of using. PLEASE let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Your selected web page to check out is the Gear Vender OD. A very stout unit and plenty strong enough for your application.

A friend had one of these OD units in a Chevy 454 Dually 1 ton tow truck for years with no problems. He was running back and forth through 3 states pulling a 28 foot loaded enclosed trailer.

GV claims they are good for 1200 hp in stock form. We have one behind a 406 with 4.10s and like it a lot. Not close to your hp or likely torque however.

Gear vendors is the way to go for big hp and torque. They are very strong and trouble free unlike 700r4s etc.
