One step forward and two steps back. Every effin time I think I'm getting close to getting her on the road something else happens. So far this week i've broken the lens on my new speedo, messed up my headliner during install and now the damn trans is leaking again.

I've got a major leak from my fresh 700R4 (zero miles). At first I was convinced that it was the frt pan but after upgrading to deep cast aluminum pan, same leak. It appears to be coming from the damn TV cable and running down the frt edge of the pan. It is a new cable. Any bright ideas on how to fix? I'm thinking that I can drop the rear of the trans enough to get access. Anyone know for sure? If I remove the trans crossmember how much will it drop? I really don't want to pull the whole damn trans back out.

And to think that I restore these cars as a hobby for enjoyment.

Thanks in advance.

Had that on my new TPI 700r4, turned out to be the dip stick O ring and the little hat seal on the TV cable. Hat seal is just like a Lincoln hat with the ends open.

Hang in there , fix one problem at a time and it will be fine. I almost gave up on my 67, glad I didnt now.

Update - the tv cable seal was pinched when installed by the trans shop. Next time I will check it before installing trans. Major pain in the arse trying to change the seal while still in the car.
