Just wondering if anyone had any experince with these folks and their heads. They have good feedback.

Was considering rebuilding my 370s but these are just a little over 1/2 of what that rebuild will cost. Am I missing something with these heads?

I bought a set off him 3 or 4 years ago, same price. They were well done for the money, and no core.

Packaged well, and shipped prompt.

Building a 350 for my Nova SS. Its not the original motor, so not having the double hump heads is not that big of a deal. Should the 416 or 434 heads they reference compare to the 186 or 370 heads?

The heads I got were old 307 heads that had been hogged out for 1.94 intakes. They were just well done heads, nothing to brag on though.

$400 for a set of rebuilt heads ??? ready to go??? Not all that bad $$$ wise.

But could always save up for a better head... maybe some Vortecs ???

I dont know anything about these folks. I dn believe the heads they have displayed are the big window "lightweight" castings.
If I recall correctly they are prone to cracking. For the $$ seems light a good deal though. Also note summit has a sale going on through jan on heads for a few more $$ then these

I see this same place is selling the "foreign" Pro-comp aluminum heads for $599. Heads are built and assembled by them. That sounds like a great deal. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-SB-CHEVY-CHEVROLET-PERFORMANCE-CYLINDER-HEADS-190CC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33617QQihZ016QQit emZ260196682603

My 307 came stock with 1.94 valves. Are you sure yours weren't stock?

They were just heads to me. I don't care either way. I guess they coulda been 1.94 if I made a mistake when I looked em up 3 or 4 years ago or in the remembering:). They were well done was my only point and I know I remember that right.

Aren't those 305 heads, and the heads they used on the little tiny 267's? I'd wonder how well they flow.

Can't find any good flow data here but Mortec says they began life as a 55-58 cc head? Guess thats whey valves are sunk or chamber opened? Ad says 64cc.

434's are actually a heavy casting. This was a very common 2bbl 305 head in the 70's, and a variation of it was used on 267's. Factory valve size for the 2bbl 305 versions was 1.72/1.50, and chamber size averages around 63cc's.

267's have 1.72"/1.38" valves in them.

As for the 305 heads, I figure most of them have right at 160 or so cc intake ports so are fine if they are opened up so that your CR. doesn't get too high, imho.

I do know that the 305HO, -601 heads are dandy heads, 1.84"/1.50" valves and a double-quench chamber not unlike the old original fuelie head, the -461!

But you have to cc them b/c they can vary from 52 to probably 58 cc's!

I do believe the heads they are showing are modified 305 heads.they come from factory with small chambers and smaller intake valves.you can tell by how thick they are between the cylinders.350 heads are about 3/8 in thick.those are about 5/8 in.

Give these a look:

They are 67cc iron heads with 165cc intake runners, 2.02/1.60 stainless valves, hardened seats, and come fully assembled for $292.50 each (current price on Summit)

These heads are apparently Dart Iron Eagle S/S heads sold under the Summit name. I bought a set a few months ago. Very nice

I'd buy the cheap aluminum jobbers bare, clean them up a schosh and assemble myself w/ stock parts and a cheap set of Z-28 springs for not all that more money, imho..
