I was actually there when I was 12 and the temples were fascinating. I'm sure alot has changed (now 43). Wasn't the cleanest place in the world but very intriguing to say the least.

I can't find a Camaro in the pictures. Am I missing something?

Could not find a Camaro anywhere. And I did look, believe me.

The reason for this visit was to see if a retirement home would be an option for us. We have friends who have homes there which they visit 3 months of the year and love it.

I've always wanted to visit Thailand. I dated a girl from Thailand for a bit and found the culture interesting.

Can you take your Camaro with you if you move there?

Those bring back memories!

I spent a week there many years ago.

We went water skiing, and I recall dodging garbage in the water! ;)

We went to a huge zoo, posed for pics with an 8ft long boa constrictor wrapped around my neck.

Also a "carnival" kind of place with all kinds of exhibits that would make an American cringe! There were hundreds of large jars filled with formaldehyde....lets' just say that they preserved some very disturbing things in them.

But I will never forget it.

Great hotel that had my clothes cleaned, folded, and placed on my bed within about 1 hour.

They treated us like royalty, had a great time!

Fantastic place for sure.

Mr. G - your old flight line pic got me to looking around here. My F-4 pictures from Ubon must be buried in another box somewhere, as we're packing to move across town.

These are from my 2nd trip to Thailand 1973. Korat. That's me in the bottom right pic. Came back in '73 TDY with a squadron of A-7's. I liked them better than F-4's as I could work underneath them without taking off my scalp on loose zuez (sp) panel fasteners:)
