I'm in the process have having someone rebuild my 12 bolt differential. The current ring and pinion is Richmond and the pinion yoke slides onto the pinion shaft without any effort. I will be replacing with used GM 3.31 gear set that I have recently purchased. Before assembly I wanted to make sure the pinion yoke fit. The yoke goes on about half way and it seems like I would have to hammer it on the rest of the way. Is it normal for a pinion yoke to fit this tight.
