Are you guys using a gasket for oil pan install. My gasket kit does not have one. Shoulld I just use Permatex or the Right Stuff and make my own?

Some of the newer sets are short of the pan set and advise use of either the new 'One-piece' type or the older 4-piece set.
I would (and do ...) use the one piece with just a dab of sealant (silicone) in the four corners of the gasket to rail contact.

If you bought a HEAD SET then they don't come with one. You have to buy a full set or a CONVERSION SET to get the oil pan gasket.

Just be sure to use a 'dab' of sealant in those transition areas near the main bearings. All other areas of the gasket should be clean and dry. The worst thing you can do is dope up the whole thing - especially on a nice rubber one-piece gasket.
