how much would a original 68 z/28 hood be worth? it has some small dings where it has been itting around for a while. no rust.

A '68 Z/28 hood is the same as any 1st. gen. flat hood 'cept for the paint stripes. I bought an excellent used flat '69 hood (I can tell the year because of the original funky twin narrow stripes towards the center peak), I paid $100. I have seen as cheap as $40 and as high as $250.

YenkoYS100 is right. A 69 Z hood is the same as any standard flat hood. Nothing special about them. They are usually real cheap at swapmeets, also pretty easy to find.

The 68 Z/28 hoods were flat only. The cowl induction hoods didn't come out until late 1968 and were for the 69 Z/28s. If this was on a 68 Camaro, that wouldn't be unusual since the cowl hood is a pretty common upgrade for 67-69 Camaros. I would say it's a pretty good chance that it's an aftermarket hood.
