Not something you'd want to put behind a V-8. Mark TJS69 Jan 3rd, 08, 02:30 PM No 5 speeds that I know of. I believe the T56 6 speed is a tremec. If you are looking for a cheap 5 speed, there isn't one. dbx1969 Jan 3rd, 08, 02:51 PM I think the new 6spd vette sports a Tremec? boonstein Jan 3rd, 08, 04:28 PM GM did use the T-5 (s-10) trans in the late model 6 banger camaros, nuff said. mikes69z Jan 4th, 08, 10:49 AM And there's nothing wrong with a T5, depends on what you're using it for (how much horsepower /torque does it have to handle?) thedugan Jan 4th, 08, 10:51 AM I had one in my Mustang 5.0 and couldn't break it. Made me get on for my camaro dbx1969 Jan 4th, 08, 11:18 AM I had one in my Mustang 5.0 and couldn't break it. Made me get on for my camaro You're not going to "break one" with a 5.0, as they're rated to handle 500hp with a regular drive shaft. They sell aluminum shafts if you have a higher HP rating. Forgive me if the stang 5.0 is over 500hp . mbrekke Jan 4th, 08, 12:20 PM You're not going to "break one" with a 5.0, as they're rated to handle 500hp with a regular drive shaft. I think they're rated more like 250. Mark thedugan Jan 4th, 08, 01:12 PM If you stop using the clutch you will.... ;) It was bone stock, except for a set of rear gears and wheels tires. Totalled it before I could do anything to it Hurst - Jeff Jan 4th, 08, 03:26 PM The recent Camaros used a Tremec T56, Corvettes use a Tremec, the new Camaros that are coming out use Tremecs. Ford Mustangs and Dodge Vipers also use Tremecs. |
