Since it is going to rain all weekend, I am going to repaint my dash. As is, the dash pad is off, I will pull out the gauges and sand, but can anyone outline the steps for me....PLEASE

Here is what i was thinking

1. Sand
2. Primer
3. Paint

but, there is a small amount of surface rust on some welds, and I want to do this right, so if anyone can help I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Dustin

I am going thru this right now and one thing I didn't take seriously enough is cleaning the dash.
Over the years a lot of Armorall (silicone) is used on most dashes. This will cause "fish-eyes" to come up thru the paint. This happened to me. In hindsight I would have cleaned it about ten or more times with the "wax and oil remover" type stuff. So, be sure you clean your dash many more times than you think necessary-before you sand. Then clean it more times after you sand. I wish there was a way to be SURE it was clean before painting.
I am currently cleaning it again and sanding all the paint down.
What kind of paint are you using?
There are a lot of threads you can look up on this sight on this subject.

That really looks good! I'm not smart on paint and it scares me to death. Good luck
