I have black and white houndstooth interior in a 68 with black exterior, I'm thinking of a color change. So my question is, what colors are best matched with this interior? If you have any pictures could you post them. I haven't posted much here,but I'm here everyday two,three,four times a day. I've learned so much from this site. Just a big" Thank You" to all of you.

Black is actually a Killer colour, If yor car is nice and straight. My car is a light blue metalic, but i think it would be awesome in black. Just my $ .02

I had one that I did in Porsche red back in the 80's. Killer color combination.

fathom blue is awesome, I must agree. Island teal wouldn't be bad either.

Boy, even though it is a 68, isn't hugger orange the defining color for first gens? I was out driving today and saw a 68 hugger orange with white Z stripes and it was creating quite the rubber necking experience in traffic.

I agree with keeping it black but all of the available original colors go well with black interior. It comes down to personal preference.

Black is hands down the best exterior color for complimenting the houndstoooth interior.
White is also a good choice, as it will match the white in the seats.
Any other color exterior is adding a third color which becomes a personal taste issue. You will find people will either love it or hate it.
The factory recommended colors for 1968 are any exterior color for black, parchment, or houndstooth interior. So there is no bad choice, pick one you like. You already have the best, IMHO.

Well this isn't a 68, or houdstooth, but it was a killer combo. Try the white stripes to spice up the black. You get my drift.

I have a 67 vert all black with the 69 black and white hounds tooth, IMO keep it black. But if you have to, go with black and white stripes like Stewie posted or White with black stripes. You need the cowl hood for those stripes. Or change both inside and out. You could go hugger orange, black stripes and a orange and black hounds tooth! Just a thought.
