Take a look at http://www.classicchevy5speed.com/Camaro-Nova-6-Speed-Select.aspx http://www.keislerauto.com/gm/camaro-gen1-kits.html I'd also try the search feature this is a topic that has a ton of threads on it. JimM Jan 6th, 08, 06:24 PM Ed's post links to a couple vendors of TKO 5 speed overdrive transmissions. The first, CC5S, is a site sponsor, and very highly regarded. For those who prefer the "old school" it certainly still possible to retrofit a munncie 4 speed, using all reproduction of original parts. Don't know of anyone selling a complete kit, but all the stuff is available. Trans could be new or used. Way back when, I converted mine from a powerglide to a muncie 4 speed. 2 years ago, a TKO500 went in. Overdrive is wonderful! I'd ask Keisler for a quote for your application its pretty easy to do online from their websit, and then they email and mail you the quote. They aren't the cheapest but I like their kit that moves the shifter forward so you don't have to do as much cutting in the floor. Probably expect about 5k on the 6 speed and about 1k less on the 5 spd. GMJim Jan 10th, 08, 06:18 PM ScottMH We take a slightly different approach to getting the shifter position correct in your car. We don't machine your transmission to fit the shifter in the factory location as some of our competitors do. Our shifter is a bolt on unit with the correct off set to put the shifter in the factory location. No mods to your new trans and no mods to the car. http://www.classicchevy5speed.com/Elite-Camaro-1967-81-Tremec.aspx http://www.classicchevy5speed.com/TKO-Shifter-Options.aspx |
