Hi, anyone out there that can tell me where to find 69 camaro paint code/formula mixing specs 71 Lemans blue and code 76 daytona yellow in spies hecker base clear urethane?
Body shop i am using to paint car uses this brand and say there is no code for it and he needs to match to original part which i dont have.
Any comments on this product line in general?
He also says he can use ppg if i prefer. Not really sure if one is better than another. He does majority of his work in spies but for some ppg.
Shop is on the up and up, car has gone thru amazing resto to perfection now its time for paint and i just want the color "correct".
Need lemans blue code as that is what color i decided on but if i change my mind at last second it will be daytona yellow.
Thanks
Ryan

Well PPG is supports a better color library so it's a little bit easier to find there.

Blue: PPG Code: 13782
Yellow: PPG Code: 81739

I'm sure it'll look great!

I shoot only spies hecker and house of kolor. The spies is a great paint, easy to shoot and lays out nice. It's my choice by far. I even joke with people that I can shoot spies blind folded!

I have no idea the color codes though....

67, is there a "tech number" of some kind he should be able to call? I know that every brands formula is different with usual altternates etc., but we still need something to go by.
Ryan

Thanks for reasuring me on quality of product!

Any paint store should be able to use the formula from one brand to the other and get it close. Have them use the PPG numbers listed above to get the formula then just have them duplicate in in the spies line.

BTW, Spies isnt cheap, it's a great German paint....

The former American Standox, Mason and Spies-Hecker were bought by DuPont in 1999 from Hoechst, a large German chemical company
