i'm in the process of securing my trunk pan in place with sheetmetal screws for welding. in the back corner i can't get the drill in due to low clearance. does anyone live in the new orleans area and has a close quarters drill i could borrow? is there another option to get the metal flush for welding?

i'll try to post pic.

Homedepot or Lowes will carry an angle adaptor for a drill. It costs around $20. The drawback of it is it only will use quarter inch bit tips. You can use a self drilling hex head in it with the right size driver. I don't use mine very much but it comes in handy at times.

Harbor frieght & Tool is always a good bet

Eastwood had some 90* drill or if your using an electirc drill... some air drills are a bit smaller and may work

A porta power with light pressure might work, or a bottle jack.

Maybe a carbide burr on a die grinder, and if you go a little oversize, put a bolt and nut in it.

You could slice a little out with a dremel wheel, just enough to break through, then drive an awl through it. The little slice will be easy to weld up.

thanks for the suggestions. I didn't know about an angle adapter, I'll try to find one. I looked at harbor freight and they were out of stock. (would have been $34). I looked from under but the right spot would have been hard to hit. also i think there was something in the way, shock mount or something. I'll let ya'll know how it turns out.

I have a Makita right angle drill from home depot for jobs like this.
I don't see a makita there now, but they do have a similar ryobi for $65

I got an air drill from HF. it's small enough to fit in the area i was having trouble. the close 1/4s drill would have been better but this worked ok. I'll link some pics later. Thanks for the suggestions
