When it comes time to reinstall the windshield what should I use, the tar tape or the urethane like the new cars come with? When should the molding be reinstalled, at the same time or after everything cures out? The first time I did it I used the tar and the windshield slipped so bad that rain would come in from the top.

zz-28 i would use urethane.i have a uncle that does this for a living and they never use the tape stuff.urethane seals better and is stronger.as for moldings if done right and with no urethane around clips you could install mouldings anytime but if you get urethane around clips and put on mouldings and it gets in there it would be very hard to get the mouldings back off.if you use urethane be sure to use urethane primer befor applying urethane.its what ill use when the time comes.......Luke

Make sure you clean and prime the body opening, AND clean and prime the glass before you apply the urethane. If you haven't done it before and don't have the right tools and materials, lots of auto glass shops will come to your house and do it right in your garage (and do it right). Urethane cures by moisture - if you run water on it occasionally (or just use a spray bottle with water in it), it will cure in about 24 hours. The tape is junk.

...and you can put your mldgs. on as soon as the windshield is in.
