I have reproduction horns mounted on my 69'. I mounted them as shown in the picture. The non stock brackets forced me to mount the horns like this(connector side up). Is this how they were mounted from the factory or did the GM brackets allow for the horns to mounted so the connectors and wires were not exposed?

Unfortunately the Camaro did not have the horns (or much of anything else) when I purchased it.

Try this guy, he restores your existing and I think he sells them restored also if yours are missing. I bit the bullet and sent mine to him last year and had them restored after they had sat on the shelf for about 10 years, they were dead and I had generic replacements just like you but I didn't cut the old plugs off. Looks like his price went up though, I think I paid $180, but they work and look awesome.

Thanks for the link. $250 for a set without "trade in" horns.

I ended up re-bending the supplied bracket to get the horns to mount like some pics that have been posted on TC. The openings in the horns now face to the rear of the car which doesn't have any effect on the loudness of the horns and road debris should not be able to enter them as well. Now when I go to a cruise in I guess I'll have to be told "hey dude...you know your horns are wrong!!!" Think I'll tell 'em " at least it has horns!!"

Why don't you just switch them side-to-side so they both face forward? Maybe you tried it already and the connector wires aren't long enough....

Andrew you are correct, the wires are not long enough and I am afraid to try pulling on them or cutting on the wrapping of my new AAW wiring harness to see if I could gain the needed length.

I mounted them on a bracket I made inside the right fender and bolted it where the fender extension bolts to the fender. I stacked the horns one over the other and faced them forward behind the headlight bucket. This gives the hood latch a clean look.
